The number of child migrants crossing the jungle 'Darien Gap' has risen sharply in the first four months of this year.

 The Darien Gap area has become an important transit point for thousands of immigrants trying to enter the United States.

 Aspirants in South America do not hesitate to cross this dangerous jungle region infested with criminals in search of a better life.

 Between January and April this year, a record 25,431 children crossed the Darien Gap into Panama.  Among them were both unaccompanied and unaccompanied children.

 Unaccompanied minors are increasingly crossing the Darien Gap into Panama.

 During the second half of the year, the region receives heavy rains.  Due to this, the number of migrants crossing the Darien Gap during this period decreased.  According to immigration analysts, if the current trend continues, the number of child migrants crossing the Darien Gap may exceed a million by the end of this year.
